Barbara Gollman, MS, RD
Registered
Dietitian, Barbara Gollman is a nationally known speaker, consultant,
and expert on phytochemicals and functional foods.
She is co-author of The Phytopia® Cookbook:
A world of Plant-Centered Cuisine that combines healthful recipes
with the latest phytochemical
research. Located in Dallas, TX, Gollman develops recipes and consults
with food companies and organizations. A former national media
spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association, she appeared
on CNN and PBS as well as Dallas-Ft Worth and other southwestern
U.S. television stations. On camera or off, Barbara is the consummate
ambassador for a healthy lifestyle.
Barbara, was one of the first dietitian/chefs to teach low
fat, healthy, and above all, tasty cooking to consumers. Chef-trained
in culinary arts, she was formerly a Medical Microbiologist who
grew up on a farm in Kansas. She mixes her innate love of good
food and clean crop production with healthy cooking techniques
to produce treasures of the table.
Gollman graduated
with a Master's of Science in Nutrition from Texas Woman's University,
Denton, TX in 1989. She received the
Emerging Dietetics Leader award from the Texas Dietetic Association
in May 1999 and has served as President of The Dallas Dietetic
Association and held various positions with the Texas Dietetic
Association. A founding member of ADA’s Food and Culinary
Professionals, Barbara has served as e-newsletter editor, Teleforum
Chair and on the Nominating Committee. A member of ADA’s
Food and Culinary Professionals (FCP), Barbara has served as founding
e-newsletter editor and Teleforum Chair and was elected to the
Nominating Committee. She is also a member of the FCP Speaker's
Bureau.
